Artist to sketch guests at Sweet Valley Wines barrel-tasting event
Sip wine. Get sketched.
One Walla Walla tasting room will offer the ultimate pairing of wine and art at this weekend’s Fall Barrel Tasting. Artist Jeffrey Hill will be creating free portraits Saturday for customers at Sweet Valley Wines tasting room, 12 N. Second Ave.
The sketches are expected to take anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes apiece. Guests will be drawn on a first-come, first-serve basis, said Josh McDaniel, winemaker for Sweet Valley Wines and Righteous Wines.
Hill, known for his impressionistic style as Walla Walla’s “Vineyard Van Gogh,” has left his mark at numerous wineries.
He’s created labels for wineries from Isenhower Cellars to Sapolil Cellars; murals, including one at Reininger Cellars; and even a metal and glass mobile at Cougar Crest.
