Otis Kenyon Wine makes its debut today in Woodinville
From Walla Walla to Woodinville. Otis Kenyon Wine makes its debut today on the western side of the state with the unveiling of its new tasting room.
The Walla Walla Valley winery, 23 E. Main St., is the latest of a cluster of area wineries to expand to Woodinville wine country in an effort to provide greater access to consumers west of the Cascades. The new space is at the Apple Farm Village, 14525 148th Ave. N.E., near the Hollywood School.
The winery is named in tribute to four generations of Otis Kenyons. One in particular brings a mysterious flair to the family name. Almost a century ago, dentist James Otis Kenyon became notorious when he burned down a rival businessman’s office. Fifty years after the legendary arson and his subsequent estrangement, grandson Stephen Kenyon reunited the family before James died at 101.
The winery’s new tasting room in Woodinville — a complement to the existing local operation –will be open noon-5 p.m. Friday through Sunday. For more information visit otiskenyonwine.com.
